A recent project

Fred Ott came up to Denver to see his mother for Thanksgiving and brought over a knife for me to photograph. I had just received some nice new background material from Coop (Thanks, man!) so it was natural to put them together. Your comments are welcome, as always.

Here's some of Fred's other recent work. He has a unique style which, after handling and shooting seven or so now, I find to be appealing and quite photogenic.

Buddy,
Your photos are outstanding as I have told you in the past. I dig the photographic style of #3 the most.

Thanks, Romey. I like #3 best but what made it possible was Fred's line-drawing business card. Most have a knife or other photo that would compete for attention - this one didn't and in fact it ties up nicely with the wire inlay too.

Hey, I like your web-site and a lot of what you have to say about things, especially the importance of heat treating and blade testing, and the often overlooked importance of hand ergonomics and hand fatigue during sustained knife use.

Hope you're having a good winter up there.

Mr.Ott does IMO the best inlay out there and your photography catches it as well as it gets.
I like how #2 sets the inlay off a little more to my eye then #3 but for over all I do like 3 best and the inlay is still set off very well.

Thanks for the kudos on website, its a work in progress but for most part says what i want to say which is the main thing. It was and is the only site I have made from scratch and need to sit down and sort through pictures i have to put on it still in gallery. Now i have a Nikon D 40 and before that a Nikon cool pics which did OK if lighting was right it did very well. I just need to decide if i want to leave only pictures from the coolpic off and only put higher quality D40 pics on or not from newer knives.
