Bocote wood handles?
I was wondering if Bocote makes a good knife handle? Found some at a local hardwood store and I thought it would make a beautiful handle. Does anyone have any experience using it??

I have used bocote wood for knife handles. Mine came out wonderful. The ones I have are stabilized. I am not sure if that is necessary or not but I purchased mine that way. The wood is easy to work with and has stunning contrast. I would highly recommend it but you will have to ask someone else if it needs to be stablilized.

I have sold several hunting knives with Bocote scales. Mine were also stabilized by a commercial company that does that procedure. It is a excellant wood to work with and can have beautiful color and contrast.
