bamboo for handle material?

Has anybody ever used bamboo for handle material I found some 4"x6x1/2" pieces of laminated bamboo really cheap and was wondering if it would work for handles and how to finish it. Seems like it would be really tough and look pretty cool.

Pretty much everything that could be used for a knife handle has been used, including bamboo (both laminated and whole). It works fine and makes a sturdy and fairly decent looking handle. Since it is laminated you don't have to put anything on it for a finish, just buff it if you want it shiny. Or, a little Ren Wax is good too. Being laminated, it's already as stable as it will ever be. No finish will soak into it very far and none is needed unless you just want to change the look of the material in some way like stain or some kind of glossy top coat, etc ....

Thanks as always Ray I figured it would be alright just wanted to check before I put it on I have some in both natural color and a darker stained brown color I got em for 25 cents a piece so it wouldn't have hurt to much if it didn't work out.
