Same old thing, one more time
I have used Loctite 330 Depend since I first saw it. But having laid off for awhile and always wondering what is best I ask again the best all around adhesive. This is for handles usually. I have scales on knives and the occasional solid piece of stag or wood on some. But my favorite has never been on top in the articles about the best so what do you use and why. I know 330 used to have a expiration date and I found that maddening. Just wonder if I should change. Your opinion i appreciated for sure.

Well, ever since we did the Glue Wars thread some years back many of us have been using AcraGlas (not the Gel version). It has all the best characteristics for knife handle work: very, very strong, not affected by water or sunlight, long pot life (about 15 minutes), it is very thin when first mixed so it can be poured into a handle when required, and it is easy to use. You can get it at Brownell's or at Jantz but not your local stores. It seems very hard to beat....

I have have seen both the gel and the regular formulations in a few stores around my place (Lansing, Michigan). Mind you its the small kit, but $19 isn't bad as i get quite a few knives out of each box. If you are interested in obtaining it locally i would say to call some of the small mom and pop sporting goods stores, for some reason they carry a lot of the stuff the big box sportsmen stores don't.
