I have made my first 132 layer Damascus knife blank made out of 1084 & 1520. On one side there looks to be a few cracks but none on the other side or edges. They didnít show up until after normalization. I like to grind my blades after heat treat. I want to try to grind out the cracks / delaminations. Could heat treating cause more problems trying to grind out the cracks or make them worse? I would have posted a picture but had trouble uploading it. Thanks for any advise!
