billet edge delamination

I am attempting to make a spider web design in my billet. When I pinched the billet in the center my outside edges delaminated some. The delamination mostly occured where I had inserted two thin pieces of 15n20 between the bars. The billet seemed to be welded well before I started pinching.

What can I do to avoid this and can I save the billet with the delamination? The delamination doesn't seem to have gone to far into the billet, just the outside edges.

Thanks
Mark

Hey Mark,
What your refering to is a pretty common thing to happen with those types of manipulations. They can be a real pain sometimes and other times no problem. All I can say is flux thoroughly before the next weld and weld the billet from one end to the other being careful to overlap your welds as you go.
