Spring and Copper
Just trying to learn more about heat treating...
Forged from a leaf spring........ 4 Normalization cycles........ 3 quenchs in peanut oil @ around 145 degrees 3 Temper cycles.. 1st at 400, then two at 375 Passed the Brass Rod Test Passed the 3 foot point drop on concrete (three times) Anyway.... OAL 12 3/4" Blade - Tip to Guard 8" Hammered finish on Copper Guard Copper spacers Stabilized Redwood Burl Thanks for looking.......... Robert |

That, Robert, is one nice knife! I'm always drawn to copper anyways, I love the stuff. You're use of it, with the red spacers as accents, and the burl for handle material really sets this knife off. Very well done amigo!

Thanks Robert.....
Forging is extremely rough on my old tired arms, elbows, and joints in general. Too many years of hammerin' out wrecked cars and trucks. Most folks probably have miles on their arms and joints in proportion to their age........... I have what you call "high mileage" on mine. Can't expect to get much on "trade-in". Of course at my age, you can't get anything for trade-in anyway. I know, cause my wife has been checking........ Robert |

Really choice work here Robert. I've always like your work.

Robert, I really like the looks of that copper with the Redwood Burl. Very nice work. I really like that model of yours.
