Benchmade Trainer
Does anyone have experience with the Benchmade trainer that is currently being sold? I was thinking of getting it and the regular Benchmade Bali-song as a set if they have a similar feel and balance. Right now I have ground the edge and tip of a cheap balisong to use for practice but the handle is different from my Typhoon. Handling one isn't necessarily like handling the other.

Sure I've got some Craigos.., and although they are somewhat different in feel to swinging the actually BM Balisongs themselves, the Trainers are nice.., and pretty indestructible.
I like older T-Latch models better myself.., but many love the spring latch. It's really just a matter of taste, they are both fine. You can find them around on line if you look at some of the more popular Internet sites. The similarity of the feel of the two knives is close enough to get carry over value practicing with the Trainer as long as you always extend your skill-set to include the manipulations you are working on to the "Live Blade" models (so you don't get sloppy and over-confident). Have fun! __________________ Pete Johnston ~~> ExamonLyf@aol.com "There is no greater wisdom.., than [KINDNESS]" "Hunters seek what they [WANT].., Seekers hunt what they [NEED]" |

I'm going to agree with Pete.
I've given my 40T more abuse than all my other balis combined and it still holds up just fine. __________________ Bali haiku: Whirling balisong Handles flying through the air Ouch! I cut myself |
