Just a note: Cell/phone service is poor at TR. Trying to contact me at the last minute just doesn't work.
Also I have no texting capability on my phone at this time. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 5-J |

Thank you for the post
Hello Carl:
My son, 14 is learning how to make knives. For father's day he is finishing a blank blade for me using curly maple (one of my favorite woods) I came upon your name and the Ga. Knifemaker's Guild while dong some searching. I wish we had known about the event that took place last week. I am trying to find places where he and I can go to learn more about forging and knife making. If you have suggestions, they would be greatly welcomed. We are in the process of moving from Chattanooga to Rossville, so we will be N. Ga residents soon. Robert A. Williams |

Robert,
Good on you and your son. Hey it's all about timing. It is a great event to get someone exposed to the forging game. There will be another one the first week in Oct. (same place). I will also be conducting a much smaller one-day event the last weekend in July up at Crawford's Campground in Murphy NC, that you are welcome to attend. Welcome to GA. This weekend down in Marietta/Atlanta at the Cobb Galleria will be the biggest knife show in the world called the Blade Show. If you want to make the trip down it'd be quite an experience for your son (you too if you like crazy traffic). If you decide to come send me a PM here, I might be able to score you some VIP passes for a discount on event tickets. My table number is in my byline below as well. Be glad to talk to you guys about other opportunities as well. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 5-J |
