Lockback and slipback tutorials?
Ive been looking through the wealth of info on this site for the past week and have been overwhelmed at how much there is to learn here. What I couldnt find yet was a tutorial on designing and building lockbacks and slipbacks. Can someone maybe help with a link please?

Found the sticky by Don on the Trapper, which answers my need for the slipjoint, but I am still lost on the lockback.

Right here on the site: KnifeNetwork Workshop -- look for "How to build a Lock-Back Folder" by Neil Charity -- mind you, this is only one way to do it - there are about as many ways as there are makers (the same for slipjoints - don't take any one way as gospel). Another rather different take on making a lockback, by Jerry Fisk: The making of an Old Thorny folder.
Pay attention to when they talk about the angles of the front and back of the lock lug/notch - they're not meant to be dead square.

Dramako,
I would highly recommend that for your first folder you make a linerlock instead of a lockback or slipjoint. Ray Rogers has an excellent tutorial on his web site www.rayrogers.com. I have used his method, with slight modifications, to build about 10 folders in the last few months with excellent results. If you follow his tutorial carefully, you can build a folder that will work smoothly.
