My first Toothpick and new partner
This is my first wood project (other than pinewood derby cars) and my first inlay.
I made this for a Purdue professor for all his kindness over the last few months. He has given me a vast amount of wood, books, and wisdom. He has been the head prof for Purdue for the last 35 years as the Dept. head of Wood Science dept. He has written 2 text books for Purdue (one still being used today) and has over 200 publications and research documentations. He has taken a real liking to me and my work with knives and woods. Starting next week, we will be co-authoring a research study on domestic woods and stabilizing. As a bonus to this, Purdue has agreed to purchase the equipment for this study. Yea me !! My pixs did not turn out the best but you get the idea. African Blackwood and curly maple. (there is dust around the points on the handles, didn't catch that until after the pixs.)
