Damascus drop point, natural solidified resin handle ("clavo de pino")
This is a 80 layers (1085 (70%)+1020 (30%)) damascus blade.
The handle is made of natural solidified resin of "monkey puzzle tree" (Araucaria spp.) that grows in some northen regions of our country (Misiones province basically). Here we call this material "clavo de pino" which means "pine tree nail", and it takes around 200-300 years to get to this stage. The hardening process takes place inside the tree branches, when the branches get old they fall to the floor, with this hard resin inside in a cone shape, from there is recollected by the local people. The bolster is wood micarta and has a ring of lapis lazuli. The sheath is made of leather with "clavo de pino" fittings. I'm asking USD 350 (plus shipping) ![]() ![]() Regards, |
