Week 60 WINNER - Shelia Williams!
Well this was a blow out....!
I asked for something different this round, and everyone delivered. Especially Shelia! Good lighting, a mysterious levitating pose, a wonderful knife, a strong wooden prop, and the 'spider' mascot were enough to capture almost 60% of the popular vote. It was meant to be. Congratualations to Shelia for creating such a shot. Thank you as well to the other contestants for 'testing the water's' in this challenging format I posed. Coop |

Indeed!!
A sincere congrats Shelia. An excellent image that anyone would be proud to display. It's interesting how there's always one image that really stands out and speaks to the viewer. And your picture had a lot to say! One question, how did you get your model (spider) to agree to such a great pose? Chris Nilluka |

I just got back in town a bit late to vote but I have to agree with the outcome. Great job girl! (Even if you did use a Nikon)

Like the last two week's contest, this week's contest is a real winner.
Every contestant submitted a thoughtful shot. I get tired of seeing variations of the same old layouts over and over. I think those are exercises for technical photography excellence and they go over my head. I think they are valid, just that they don't catch my eye or my mind. I hasten to add that I speak knowing that I am only a casual observer, who is not a photographer. In the last few weeks, I've seen a few that were completely new ideas (to me) : The Tom Sawyer shot (SSando), the pocketknife/Handyman book shot (Poythress) and now this week's winning shot. I think I see almost all the photos in the magazines, and because of them I place a very high value on originality. I hope everyone keeps up the good work. |

Congratulations Shelia!
Super nice knife and great image of it. This was my first time around in the contest and I voted for you! It was just way too cool of a shot. The knife really had a floating appearance that could not be denied. Sincerely, Don Carlos |

Thanks for all the feedback. I really enjoyed the challenge. I also enjoy seeing all the photo posts by you guys and all the great photo info on the forum. I have now signed up with my own user ID. Lee was the one that asked me for the photo and gave me the instructions. He has another knife ready to be photographed and I have a couple of things in mind for week 61, just have to make the time. Thanks again.
