Messed up the logo etch-fix?

Doing a final clean-up I did a light pass over the logo etch. One of those all thumbs scenarios it removed the black oxide from the the mark. The etch wasn't super deep so attempting to use what the engravers ink do is not going to settle into that area. Attempting to re-etch and mark can bring some poor results if slightly off. Then I have to take the knife apart do a full rub on the side then back together.

Thoughts to fix or leave it?

You didnít say what the steel was, but I have fixed a light colored etch on carbon steel with a Q-Tip and some ferric chloride. Darkens the logo right up and then a carfull clean up of the blade.

ATS-34. At this point rather than make it worse, probably inclined to leave it. I changed the process a bit back where I mark the knife when done. Prior the blades were marked before setting the knife up so if it got messed up, that wasn't difficult to fix. Old stencil that becomes a bit fuzzy or clogged, etc. Going over it with 600 grit was easy.

Had good runs so shifted that to the final process. Life lesson to keep one alert. LOL
