My Sgian Dubh
I made this one for myself it is not finished yet it will have a sterling silver plate at the hilt and a matching sheath. The handle is european brown oak and my attempt at carving. The blade is a piece of Donnely damascus the outside is 1095&15N20 and the inside is 1095 & pure nickel. I forged the end together a little to keep a good cutting edge.
OAL is 7 7/8" with a 3 5/8" blade. Thanks for looking. Bob |

Knife and Sheath
Here it is i like the strong grain in the oak and the way the whole package looks. Let me know what you think of it. The total length with sheath is 8 3/16" by 1 1/2" at the widest piont and a 1/2" thick. I will probably play with the knotwork a little more and sharpen it. Other than that it's finished.
Thanks for looking and your comments. Bob |
