Per several requests, I took the lead post from this thread and made it a "Sticky" at the top of the page. It reads the same. Please post any replies on this thread.
Thanks so much for the reception y'all gave it. I didn't intend it to be an official mission statement for the forum, but in reality, the response shows that I expressed in words a guiding philosophy that most of us hold here at the Outpost. That is most gratifying. I think we're on the right track Bro's, and Sis. Keep the flame burning. |

KEWL BRO. MMM Glad to see ya still have the same soft spot in your heart I do, for this tribal thing.
Even the ones that have caused grief and pain in have contributed to the "Spirit" of this forum. I cain't hold anything against them. We would not be were we are today without their influence... LIFE IS WHAT IT IS. I learn from all if I keep an open mind. Life's winners do not keep a list of people to blame their setbacks upon. Great message in these words. From the first fires of the NT gatherings word and deed have spread. While the spread is a thing of wonder and the growth a thing of pride let us not forget from where and why we came ........................Let us not forget that we all built our first fire at some point................Its not the skill level of the maker but the pride in the piece regardless of the skill of the maker.........Its what makes us one.........................

LOVE IS THE ONLY TRUE POWER.ONLY THRU COOPERATION CAN SUCCESS BE MEASURED.HAPPINESS COMES FROM DOING GOOD .
RECENTLY I ALLOWED MYSELF TO BECOME VERY ANGRY OVER SOMETHING AS TRIVIAL AS A DELIVERY.THAT ANGER AND NEGATIVE ENERGY FOLLOWED ME THROUGH ALL ASPECTS OF MY LIFE.I SHOULD HAVE APROACHED THE MATTER THROUGH POSITIVENESS AND TRIED TO HELP THE SITUATION AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.I AM A NEO TRIBE BECAUSE MY SOUL COMMANDS IT.I DO WHAT I DO FOR ENJOYMENT AND AS CREATIVE RELEASE.I LURKED HERE IN THE OUTPOST FOR A LONG TIME BEFORE JOINING.I JOINED BECAUSE I FEEL AT HOME WITH YOU ALL. LONG LIVE THE NEO TRIBE MOVEMENT AND MAY ALL OF YOU HAVE YOUR DREAMS FULLFILLED. PS. I TYPE LIKE THIS BECAUSE MY SCREEN IS SO SMALL |

Thom here; didn't mean to open up a can o' worms by asking about what was acceptable.. I'm a newbie, and that's just where I need to be..
Glad to find "principles before personalities" is practiced here..Seems like you tribalists know a thing or two about live and let live.. that is really a good code.. Ever since man stared into glowing embers, the die was cast.. did ya ever think ya was hooked before ya was ever born ??? It feels good to "fit" someplace !!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks again..( flashinthepan ) ![]() ![]() Thom Quote:

Thom - glad to see you here and a hearty welcome. As Dana so eloquently put it there is room for all.
And yes I'm sure that there are others who feel they were born to "IT" whatever your personal it is ![]() (it is that "one thing" that Curly mentioned in City Slickers.) __________________ Chuck Burrows Hand Crafted Leather & Frontier Knives dba Wild Rose Trading Co Durango, CO chuck@wrtcleather.com www.wrtcleather.com ![]() The beautiful sheaths created for storing the knife elevate the knife one step higher. Man, do I miss Chuck. There are many who have left our ranks; Chuck, Jeff Sanders, Rob “Mongo” Montgomery, Larry Harley, and I’m sure there are many names I left out, though not intentionally. Rest In Peace, Brothers. We miss y’all.

I once asked Chuck about a problem I was having with a leather item I was trying to make. He called me and said, "I can either tell you how to do it right, or I can spend a couple of hours telling you what you did wrong." After he helped me, I realized that I had gone wrong so many ways that it might have been a two hour session to review the mistakes.
His DVDs are still the best training videos I've ever run across. __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! |

I have a photo of a knife I made, for which Chuck made a beautiful sheath. I’d post it, but I’m technically challenged. I have it resident in my photos on an iPad my granddaughter out grew when she upgraded to a phone that costs more than my car. I’d gladly share it, but someone’s going to have to talk me through it, in the same kind of terms a guy or lady at the airport uses when he or she has to talk someone who’s never flown a plane, safely down to the ground because the pilot has become incapacitated at 9,000 feet.

That's exactly why we're trying to avoid helping you.
"Ok, Dana, is the computer plugged in?" "Plugged into what?" "The electric outlet." "No. Does it need to be?" __________________ God bless Texas! Now let's secede!! |
