Pattern welded Sgian Dubh
Just a little something from my shop. A large Sgian Dubh pattern welded knife. It's a bit larger then a traditional Sgian Dubh, with about a 6 inch blade. The blade is a star twist pattern consisting of 11 layers of 1084 and 15N20. It's fitted with a brass bolster and Bocota wood handle. I used some mosaic pin stock for the first time.

NICE
I really like the clean look of this knife. The straight grain wood goes well with the broad pattern blade.

This is really cool Scott. The choice of wood was perfect. Look at the top of the ricasso. The pattern runs off the back of the ricasso and blends right in with the grain of the wood. Good job. It looks to be very well planned out.

I liked the look of the blade when you posted it in the Historical forum, it is even better finished. I like the non-traditional handle, it's always good to see someone doing something new with a traditional design.

Thanks all,
I am very happy with how this low layer count pattern is turning out. It's a look I want to play with some more. But, I'm also in the process of some higher layer count pieces. Per, I don't have any sheaths for my knives yet. I know I'll have to starting making them at some point. But right now, the club that is my target audience has many leather workers, that are much better at it then I. __________________ Scott B.
