Latest Bowie
Swore Bowies off till I start forging but a customer, friend wanted one for his sons graduation. Needed a large blade with plenty of room to have his grad. class info engraved on it.
Specs: 15" OAL 10" x 2" blade in 154CM Heat colored S.S. hardware Ivory micarta handle As always, critical feedback appreciated. Thanks for looking, Lee __________________ J.L. Williams knives |

The only criticism I have is that the knife isn't for me. Just a beautiful bowie. Love the detail on the fittings.

That is one nice looking bowie. The color of the SS fittings goes great with the ivory micarta. Great flow to the piece.

Thats a really great knife. I like the straight clean lines and fittings. So your going to start forging now. I can't wait to see them.

Great looking knife, I am sure the customer will be very pleased.
I have a question.......Is the pommel secured to the tang (threaded?).... I am working on a similiar piece where the handle curves but I want the tang to extend to the pommel so I can bolt it all down. The curve is too much to push it through the handle material, so I was thinking of making a clevis pin joint near the end so that it can swivel....Anyone had this problem and how did you overcome it? Thanks. Kevin. |

A great bowie, I like the colored fittings.
Coutel, The way I solve that problem is to curve the tang to fit the handle and silver braze a piece of all thread on the tang that is perpendicular to the pommel. When you get everything fitted up it will work well. Gib |
