first time back in the shop since

Today was the first time I have been able to get back into my shop since I had hernia surgery last week. I never realized how often I get up and sit down or how often I blow things off. First time I tried today I remembered my surgery very quickly. Was able to work for about an hour, hopefully that extends quickly. I never realized how much I missed going into my little haven until I couldn't.

Take care of that hernia, Steve. I've been there, and if you aren't careful, it'll bother you for a long, long time. Spend a week or two getting yourself 100% better rather than trying to work in the shop a couple of hours and then spending a couple of months getting better.

Get well soon.

Get well soon!

I hope you are back to normal pretty soon, I like to watch for your beauties in the display case.

Couple of things I know from a friend of mine,

Don't rush it and how long it takes depends largely on how fit you were before hand.

All the best and take it steady.

Maybe that's why it took me forever to get well...

I had reconstructive surgery on my shoulder ligaments way back. I was surprised at what little movement still used/moved those muscles and ligaments! I can't even imagine trying to limit movement of the abdomen!

Feel's great once you're back out and about, though! Take care to go easy until you're 100%...re-injuries are worse!

Ditto what every one else has said, Steve! Go slooow and easy. I'll miss seeing your beauties posted here but what's that expression? "Absence makes the eyes get bigger!" Pleeze - NO sit-ups just yet!

Steve,

Glad to see that your back. Even if it's limited for a while, I'm sure that it's nice to get into the shop. Take it easy. You definately don't want to go through it again.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. It certainly does make it a bit easier. It gives me a good excuse not to rearrange the furniture this weekend. I think mowing the lawn, takingout the garbage, cleaning the garage and a host of other chores are definitely not going to be possible for a while. I wonder how long Darlene will buy it. (My wife is a grade three teacher so I figure I should be good for about 5 minutes max)

Thanks Again
Steve
