HF bandsaw homebrew mod

Howdy,

I posted these over on another site but didnt know if anyone saw them over here. I wanted a small table top bandsaw to cut TI liners and such out with but didnt have the funds for a full size one. Here is my mods to a HF portable bandsaw. Its rock steady and works like a champ. Comments welcome

Dave

Hi Dave:

That looks pretty nice. How did you make it?

Thanks, Steve

I used 2.25 or 2.5 inch square tubing welded together. I took the handle off the top part and drilled holes so the screws would go thru the box tubing. It rest some on the bottom handle and rest on the welded arms. 1/4 inch plate steal for the table top welded to the OEM brace.

Txcwboy,

do you use original blade it came with? Is it good?

I just ordered my portable band saw from HF and wonder if I better get a good bi-metal blade.

I just got a portable band saw for $59 from HF. I really like it even with the blade it came with(which suppose to suck) it beats my hacksaw!
There is only one problem with it - it is very LOUD. Much louder than when using angle grinder with cutoff wheel. Is it suppose to be like that?

Thanks,
Alex
