Clarance Moore Sheath

Hello,
I am relativly new to collecting randalls and and trying to keep my collections to the older stuff. I just found this site and enjoy reading your posts.

Anyway, yesterday I purchased a #12 Smithsonian Bowie with pinned ivory handle and a Clarance Moore sheath.

The problem is that it has the red translucent snap on the handle clasp, but the button is missing on the stone pouch. The snap still works. Does any one have any idea where I might get a red translucent button for a snap to make it complete? I know it is a long shot, but there is bound to be a junk sheath somewhere with one of these.

Also, any ideas on the value of this? I know pinned ivory (or pinned anything) is pretty rare.

Hello and welcome, DG

Great knife and sheath! If I was missing a translucent button, I'd be disgruntled too.

There's a guy named Grady McCotter who's been collecting Randalls and restoring sheaths for years. If anyone has a spare button and knows how to install it, it's Grady. You can give him a call at (252) 633-5697.

Good luck and best,

Ron

disgruntledgoat,
....Welcome to the forum. That is a truly fine knife and sheath combination. It would be the star of most Randall collections.
