While a hand drill cut it?

I'm getting ready to start one of my DDR III's and my original intent was to put a pocket clip on it but after reading several threads about the liners and bolsters being heat treated I started wondering if I could do it without screwing something up.

Here's what I've got to work w/:

18 volt corldess drill (I've got an old hand crank drill also if that is needed)
some fancy new bits my wife bought me (I can't remember what they are but I know they aren't carbide)
a benchvice
& a guy with not too much machinical ability.

Thanks for the input.

PS: Sorry about the poor spelling it's been along day already & there's still more to come

the bolsters should not be as hard as the liners. and i have drilled clip holes with only an 18volt dewalt cordless drill in the liners of some other kits. even though the ddr3 has thiker liners you should be able to handel it just go slow and dont let the bit or the liners get hot. you might want to order some of those steped drill bits from knifekits.com thay might help.
