Sanding belts

Is this possible? I have about 20 new 2"x80" -80 grit belts and my machine is a 72" can these be cut and put back together to fit my 72" machine or is this not possible?
Thanks,
Carl

Have you tried to see if your grinder will accomodate them? My Riverside Machine 2x72 will adjust out way past 72". It can also adjust inward to take shorter belts.

on the british blades site there is a tutorial about making your own belts, you could use those instructions to shorten yours.

I second what Mr. Finnigin said.
Most grind have a range that they can handle in length of belts.
As for shortening belts, I would not try it, but that's me.
Hope this helps
