The dreaded rules
Given the wide variety of projects that will find their way to this forum, it's hard to set rules to govern them all, so we'll just evolve as the projects do.
As for KITHs, there will be only one rule to start off with. No one is excluded intentionally. Let me clarify this. If you want to have a KITH where forged socket handles are the theme, fine. This excludes stock removal guys, but they are welcome to participate if they make arrangements to forge a knife for the event. Likewise, if you sponser a KITH where the blade is to be ground from a bastard file, fine. It doesn't exclude smiths because they are still welcome to grind one out without forging. What is not permitted is saying something like "newbies only" or "master smiths" only. This has been an issue in the past and it does not fit the spirit of what a KITH should be. I encourage you to read the eloquent quotes I included in the "What is a KITH?" sticky. Roc Ellis says it so much better than I ever could. Other rules will develop as needed. __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |
