At the risk of being laughed at does anyone have a lead on where to get the book "How to Make Multi Blade Folding Knives" slightly (read alot) cheaper than the $300 I keep finding it available for? Any help would be appreciated. If this is in the wrong forum please move to appropriate spot. Ryan Minchew

Go for the class.Its cheaper and interactive.Plus multi-blade slipjoints are possibly the most difficult knives to make, so if it was me I would love to have the one-on-one help a class would offer.

Thanks for the help guys. I've actually made slip joints that worked. My first one was crude, but the next two had all the walk and talk I could ask for. I was asking about the book in hopes of picking up a trick or two in the peening of the pivot and attatching bolsters area. I've been using super glue because no matter what else I used to atatch metal bolsters to stainless or brass liners it fell off. I'll look into the class thanks.

Did you try high temp solder?

I haven't used solder for a couple of reasons. I don't have a torch of any kind and number two is no matter how many videos I watch I can't understand how I can make the bolster stay exactly where I want it. To me it seems the bolster can slip and slide any way it pleases and I don't know how to mark a line that won't be burnt off to see where I need the bolster. Hopefully that makes sense. Same also goes for handle material super glue is the only thing that I can find within my means to make the handle material stick.

This book is easy to find if your pockets overflow with cash. IF like me and you budget everything to the last nickel that makes it much more difficult to find.

Try the following links. My library grows by leaps and bounds by being persistant and patient. Sooner or later you will find a copy at a reasonable price. I found one about 6 weeks ago for $75.00. But when I called he had sold it just that morning. BUT I did buy another title from him. Patience!!

Search for the title and again for the authors. How things are worded make all the difference. For instance this book has a hyphen between the words Multi-blade. SOME sellers use it and some don't. That DOES make a difference in searches.

I have that book somewhere. I had no idea it cost so much to buy now. I think I got mine for under $20 at a gun/knife show several years ago.

I kept finding places claiming to sell the book for roughly 20 dollars it's just no one had updated their websites. I actually found some overseas selling for as much as 1300 US dollars. One guy I talked to said he couldn't give them away when he had them in stock and they were still in print, now he can't find em for under 200.

Funny thing, I have two of the books and now don't want to part with one at all thanks to the out of this world prices. I like the book but this on the stupid side I think...
