Trizac belts have more static charge?

Hi, I was grinding a bandsaw blade today with a Grizzly, and using a Trizac 45 belt. Kept getting 'charged', so had to switch to a Norzon belt. Is this normal? I was standing on a thick rubber pad even.

Does this happen all the time, or was it "just one of those days"? Anyone else have this happen?

Don't really like jumping around when nose to an 80 grit grinder belt.

Thanks, Charlie

I’ve found that if I spray the pyro platen of my grizzly with silicon and allow to dry prior to putting on the belt and grinding I don’t get the static shock.

Your suggestion sounds suspiciously like marriage.
