Rob,
I've always looked at a new knife based on whether it made me want to pick it up and hold it ... that one does!
I love that tiger stripe effect! Nice ...

Tiger Stripes!
Well Dex, believe me I asked permission from the Strider guys first! These stripes I am now doing in Boron Carbide, just under diamond in hardness. Thanks for all the kind words guys!

Well knowing Rob I'll bet every knife that I own that the blade material is Talonite.
Pretty safe bet since "TALONITE" is etched on the blade.

yup, Talonite
Yup, 7 1/2" blade of Talonite, OD/Black Micarta, and Blackhawk jump sheath. The Boron Carbide is a coating about .0002 thick, you cant feel the ridges. It is very hard, in the 90's Rc! You can scuff it off, well actually the scratch has to start in the steel and go underneath the coating. I dug some dirt to scratch it up and reblasted it and it looks like new. Got some new stuff comming, next will be gold and black stripes! Should be cool.

Re: yup, Talonite
It still blows me away every time I look at the pics. I have seen some other tries fall a bit short:

Re: yup, Talonite
Rob, take a look in the Newbies Arena. There's an article about an Ineel coating, according to the article the super steel coating is close to indestructible. Ray
