Reb
Reb, your design will be in the mail tomorrow.

Yes, I agree the designing course would be interesting but I think there are very few people on the forums who have CAD and are familiar with using it. I don't believe we'd have enough participation.

It's an interesting concept. I could upload .pdf files of the CAD WIP and let others follow along with the examples.

By the way, although most people think slipjoints are simple to build, it takes a lot of knowledge and skills to actually build a slipjoint that works correctly and walks and talks.

The experts are to be admired for their skills.

Look at Ray Rogers' tutorial. He describes how to start a design with a coin. And that's the same way I start a folder design using CAD. Draw a circle with a center point and develop it from there.

Thanks! I looked all over your website for the slipjoint design to see how much money to send - couldn't find it anywhere. I want to send $ PayPal - what is the cost of this design?
It's hard to imagine someone thinking that slipjoints are easy. Getting that wonderful, liquid-smooth action but still with good walk and talk - well, anything but easy!
I think I saw the Ray Rogers tutorial but I remember it only dimly - I'll check it out again.
Thanks, Don.

The design isn't on my web site because I haven't had time this year to update the sites.

I made this design for the Knet slipjoint class. It's the knife we all built together.

That knife sold and I've recently built another. Red jigged bone.

I'll talk to you later about payment. Lots later.

If I can help you with it just ask, here or email.

this is some great info. Having the urge to do a folder , I decided on doing a slipjoint , gonna do my homework first and read as much as I can.
My friends think I am nuts for wanting to do slippies instead of linerlocks or framelocks , but its what I wanna make that counts

John, if I open the slipjoint class for enrollment again would you be interested in taking the class?
