Stefano,

Nicely done. The second knife is wicked looking. I really like the first one though. Your patina on the brass bolsters is great. I've rarely seen brass with a patina, just shiny and brassy, but these look more like bronze, my favorite material for fittings.

Good job!

David

Thanks, Stefano. I've used BC Brass Black to patina bronze and other copper based alloys. I've also used BC and other brands of cold gun bluing. They both use cellinium dioxide. I have a bottle of brass and bronze patina solution from a jewelry supply that has the same chemical in it.

Many years ago Kemal (Fogg and Sayan) made some knives with brass fittings that were blackened. They were awesome knives, but the fittings were just black. What I like about your fittings, Stefano, is the mottled brown tones. It adds a lot of character and compliments the wood scales. It's obvious you put some thought into your materials and how you finished them. Well done!

David
