First Real Knife
I consider this my first real knife that I wouldn't be afraid to say, I made it. Started out as HR1095 2" x 48" x .125". 7" overall with a 3" blade flat ground.
Wharncliffe styled blade. No, I didn't waste all that steel on just this one. I have several blanks cut and just waiting to grind them. Heat treated myself in a homemade propane forge with thermo-couple sensor, quenched in peanut oil. Into the oven for 60min at 350 degrees. Took it up to 800 grit hand sanding, then hit it with the bench buffer Handle is bookmarked rosewood with tung oil. Thanks for looking Last edited by DonFG; 05-20-2013 at 04:15 PM. |
