My First Sale and My First Real Knife Photo

Hi, It took a while but I just realized that I have reached a momentous milestone with my knife making. Phillip Doss at Classic GunsandKnives contacted me inquiring about my knives and expressed interest in buying from me. I have never had a knowlegeable knife person handle one of my knives and I've never felt my knives were good enough to sell (yet). So I finally broke down and sent him this one for evaluation and to my surprize he actually liked it and wanted to buy it. I just wanted to share my first sale and the first real photo of one of my knives

Thanks, Dave

Shane, I bought my first custom knife about 2 years ago from Dwayne Dushane as a gift and when I started making knives I told myself that I wouldn't start selling until I made knives of that high quality. I recently saw that knife again and just about didn't send this knife for evaluation, my work is no where near that quality and may never be but I realized some people are just more gifted, I love to make knives and will improve but if I don't start selling I'm going to go broke giving them away so I gotta start sometime

Luc, Mike, I just got your posts while I was typing, Thank you

Dave, I do not blame him for wanting that knife. It is a wonderful looking piece of craftsmanship. Be prepared to become busy. Accept the fact you are a true craftsman and start grinding them out because a waiting line is about to assemble.

Dwayne, You didn't know it but it's your fault for driving me (and my wife) crazy this last year and half trying to come close to your high standards. Thanks for the kind words and the inspiration, Dave
