Kestrel-B Damasteel Bolsters
This was my first time making a knife with damasteel bolsters. I did this one up a few weeks ago. I think the wood pattern and damasteel pattern compliment eachother well.
Specs: Steel: BG42 Blade Length: 3 3/4" Overall: 8" Handle: Stabilized Silver Vine Bolsters: Damasteel Pins: 416SS & Mosaic Thanks for looking, Sean __________________ Sean O'Hare Knifemaker's Guild - Voting Member Custom Knife Collectors Association Homepage: www.oharecustomknives.com Email: sean@oharecustomknives.com |

Great looking lines and I agree, the bolsters and scales really do compliment each other.
I'm not having much luck coloring damascus bolsters myself. Yours look nice. |

Isn't Kestrel the name of a well-known folder made by William Henry Knives?

Thanks Don. I etched the bolsters in Muriatic acid for about 15 minutes.
Kestrel could be used by William Henry, I don't know. I named this knife design many years ago and it's way too late to change it now. Other people are also using this name for knives. Naming knives is difficult to do, invariably somewhere down the line you'll find another knife with a name that you thought was so original at the time.
