New button lock folder
I've just finished a new button lock.
The red linen micarta scales are impossible for me to photograph correctly. They are made from an old, old, piece of linen micarta I found in the odds and ends drawer. The scales look like wine colored wood. 3 1/2" 154CM blade is between 1/8" and 5/32" thick. Opens effortlessly, closes easily. Ti liners are anodized bright gold color, pocket clip is anodized bright blue. Closed length is 4 5/8" This one goes on the "Available Knives" page of my website as soon as I get a few better quality photos. Last edited by Don Robinson; 07-14-2009 at 05:05 PM. |

Don, very nice pictures showing your good work. Thanks for showing the mechanics of the knife along with the finished product. Do you think that a liner lock knife would work with that kind of back spring as an assisted opener? Would a ball detent hold the blade closed until fliped open? Again thanks for showing your work.

No, I don't believe a leaf spring would work with a liner lock. A ball detent wouldn't work either in my opinion.. |

It'll take awhile for the book. I'll need to make another and take pictures of everything I do. In the meantime, I want to make another flipper. It's nice to not take orders any more. Now I can make anything I want whenever my old body feels like it. |

Don
Thanks for sharing this one. I am in the process of making one of these but messed up the tolerances on the stud. I will post pictures when it is done. Looks good and really helps with the build.
