EdgeMark 15" Bowie Style knife

I recently was given this knife by my grandmother. It belonged to my grandfather but since he has passed away no one can tell me anything about it. I would appreciate any information and if anyone is interested in purchasing it.

The markings on the blade are:

one side -

Edge Mark
Solingen
Germany

reverse - 490

When the handle is removed it reveals the number 574 and 10"

The sheath says:

Western Germany

Solingen is a town in Germany that has been famous for making knives and such since the 1300's. Edge Mark is a brand from there. You can Google 'solingen edge mark' and find other similar knives for sale on ebay and similar outlets.

That looks like a very attractive knife that hasn't seen a lot of abuse. It should be a good hunting knife. The prices I saw when I did a quick google were pretty low. I'm certainly not an expert, but it would seem to indicate that it doesn't have much cash value. The sentimental value of having a knife in the family is probably much higher.

If you plan to use it, you probably need a new sheath.
