aluminum

does anyone have a source for aluminum? im trying to find aluminum blocks around 3x4.5x1/2 any ideas?

There's a metal scrap/recycle yard not far from my work. I get stuff like that there. Maybe there's one in PA.

Danger! I can easily loose 2 hours wandering around the piles of junk steel coming up with all sorts of things to make. It might happen to you.

a couple of our local steel suppliers carry Al. for decent prices..might be the same there

They will cut to your size specs and have no minimum order. I've used their services for many years........

Steve, i went to a car junkyard one time to findseatbelts for a landcruiser at around 10am at around 5pm the guy had to kick me out

Try E-Bay in indstrial supplies. I've seen aluminum listed in just about every size. The downside is shipping charges.

They supply in small quantities to hobbyists..I have purchased alu from them and their service has been very good.

Try metal supermarkets, its a bit pricy but they usually have end cuts. They are located all over Canada and the USA. I manage the warehouse for one in Edmonton, Alberta. We get alot of knifemakers as customers. We also cut to size.
