advise request - black pins

This is a llittle pocket or purse knife I am working on. The steel is Mike Norris stainless damascus as are the bolsters. Unfortunately when I etched the blade and bolsters the 416 pins came out black. They are resessed ever so slightly below the level of the bolster by the etching. I am nto sure what to do. Do I leave them as is, do I use a drill bit and make divots to remove the black or ???? I am not sure what other options there are. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Steve

I kinda like the way it looks as is. I wonder if one of those dremel polishing points would work in a drill press with a little compound on it?

Steve, I like the look of the dark pins on the damascus but it might be different looking in person.
I know you did not plan it and thats what makes it hard to deal with.
The small hunter I did with 1095 blade and 303 bolster and pins did the same thing. It took a lot of work, I hand to sand down the entire bolster because once I started working on the pins you could see a dark ring where the pins are. This might not show up on the damascus but it sure did on a plain bolster.
Sorry I'm not much help. I really like the style of your knife great job.

Steve, awsome looking knife, you could try Craytex (I think thats what it's called) it's used to do jeweling, some use it on the inside of titanium linerlocks, shape it close to the size of the pin, and give it a little touch on the drill press. Even a little bamboo skewer with a bit of coarse buffing compound might work ok? Just a couple ideas.

I think I's call is a design element and leave it alone.
