Advice on Value
I am new to the knife scene and need some advice. It has taken some time to realise that I own what seems to be a very rare and valuable knife. It is an Edmund Davidson intigral prototype which was given to me as a present in 1998. The knife is 10" long with a 4.5" blade, 1" deep. Handle is wood and the sheath is leather with ED stamped on it.
One side of the blade has the Edmund Davidson mark on it. The other side has a very fine engraving of the 'Timber Framers Guild' crest and also of the Trebuchet built at Urquhart Castle at Loch Ness, Scotland in 1998. I now realise that I need to have this fine knife insured but do not know what value to put on it. Can anyone help? |

You would probably be best off getting a documented appraisal on it and submitting copies to the insurance company. We all know how insurance companies can try to low ball us, and without a qualified appraisal, they could very likely devalue the knife immensely if something ever happened to it.

Sounds interesting, would you post a picture of it?
