No unfortunately, I have to meet some people at Ohio State University. Talk to some people in the welding department. I have pleanty of time, anything good to see at the hamfest? I will be gone Friday evening but Wed. & Thurs evenings are open. Where is the hamfest? Got a location?

I got your e-mail and am about to reply, I will be flying in.

Hmm, the dates you posted are Thu-Sat, not Wed-Fri.

Well anyway, I live in Columbus, you can visit me if you are bored.

I'm a noob, so I don't have much of a setup, and I just moved in reciently so the house is filled with boxes and the dining room table isn't even set up so I can't invite you to dinner, and my forge is outside so if the weather sucks then don't bother.

If none of that persuades you not to visit then e-mail me and I'll send you my address and phone number. Thursday evening is out for me but any other time is fine. We can pound some steel or you can just laugh at my forge, either works.

P.S. You might want to visit the Ohio Historical Society on Sat if you have enough time. They have a smithy set up there that they would run on weekends. Last I heard though they were talking about suspending the program due to lack of interest and members though that was about a year ago and hopefully things have changed since then.

Thanks,

Thanks for the replys. I am going to meet up with Carl and may be able to squeeze in a quick trip to Koval. I can compare them to Texas Knifemaker Supply, unfortunately every time I go in TKS money leave my wallet at an alarming rate. I think I would leave total broke if it were not for my wife setting in the little chair by the door. Her favorite comment is "Why don't you get that NEXT time." I wished I could have gotten with AwP maybe NEXT TIME.

I am going to try to start meeting people everytime I get sent out of town. Anything is better than setting in the hotel waiting to go to work.

Well I made it home, good trip but there is no place like home!

Carl, thanks for letting me visit, it was worth the drive to see you and your shop. I think you have two of everything and you have some neat processes that I need to learn.

Koval was a good suggestion. Fortunately they stay open later on Thursdays. I brought home a stack of scales and G-10. Not much fun getting it on the plane. It took a little explaining to get it on the plane. I was impressed, they have a nice setup and more scale material than I expected.
