You can see my HTML version of the Supplier's List at this URL: http://www.internetbusinesslinks.net/SupplierList.html
You can also download the List in Word or PDF format. Go to that URL and click on "Handle Material". It will take you to the Handle Material section, where you can see the list of handle material suppliers. Most of them have a website. Check out their on-line catalogs. Of course, you can go directly to the manufacturer: http://www.micarta.com Don't know if they'll sell to individuals, but they do sell the stuff in 4'x8' sheets, I think. |

Yeah, and that statement is:
IT'S COLD!!! We're just not used to this crap down here. 35, 40 degrees is cold, 14 degrees is insane. How can it be hot as hell here in the summer, and cold as hell in the winter? Guess hell's frozen over! I see we're now up to a balmy 27 degrees. Geez! And I've got to go up to Atlanta this afternoon. Gotta see the in-laws for the weekend. I'm gonna freeze my butt off. |

The boss accidentally left the sprinkler timer on last night. This morning, the grass is frozen solid. Not a crunch, nothing. Solid as...well, ice.

Called the wrong number
I thought I'd gotten the weather channel !
About the G-10 / Micarta. Any of the major suppliers have reasonable prices. The best I've found are Koval - their prices are very consistent and for about $10 for a 5x12inch plate (dep on thickness and type) eg.- black linen Micarta, its very economical given that the size will be enough to make 4 slab handles - $2.50 a handle is about as cheap as ANYTHING gets these days. Another company I've dealt with is Masecraft. They don't have a website last time I looked but they have G-10 and Micarta from as cheap as $5 for a 5x12inch piece/plate. I'm based in Australia so freight prices negate any savings, so I MUST look for the best deals. Their email is masecraft@masecraftsupply.necoxmail.com They may have a website by now. They supply some very interesting stuff which the others don't so worth getting a copy of their catalog. Hope this helps. Cheers. __________________ JASON CUTTER BLADEART Jason Cutter @ Dr Kwong Yeang Knifemaker, Australia (Matthew 10.16) |

Those prices are low! At the BKS show in november I saw a set of black and green micarta slabs (estimated 1.5" x 6" x 0,4") for 25? which equals roughly 25USD. If I could find micarta here at those prices I would spend less time making my own laminates with linen and epoxy.
At those prices we have only the natural brown "Micarta" and in sizes of 1m2 (11sq.ft.). Jan |

- I looked over their site and was only able to find where offered "natural" colors. Would you be able to let us know what colors and thicknesses you have found from these folks and the approximate prices to expect? It may be worth it for our friends outside the US to order at least a full sheet. Craig __________________ "When I first started, I didn't know anyone that made knives.
