Looks very good. Real turquoise or recon? I ask cause you said Kingman turquoise and was wondering if it's from AZ near there. I love the desert ironwood, one of the few woods that doesn't need any kind of stabilization. Indeed it will polish out very good as you've done here. The mosaic pins always set off a knife for me.
The only thing I would do different (just me btw) is when I put a mirror polish on a carbon steel like 1084 I blue it twice with Super Blue. When mirror polished it reflects so well you can barely tell it's blued, think black mirror. |

Thanks Jim. The turquoise is recon we do have a turquoise mine here,I tried working with some but my lapidary skills and tools are lacking. I like the bluing idea,I will get more info from you when I try it.

Lee I have an 8" disc grinder and I get silicon carbide disc from Ebersole's in Wichita KS, and I can use a spray bottle to keep it wet, also you can hand sand with the SC sandpaper taped on a stick or bar, just keep it wet, turquoise isn't that hard, same with malachite. But recon is a whole lot cheaper than real turquoise.
