The thickest material that Texas Knifemaker's Supply sells is .090" They also sell .060", so your stuff is about twice as thick. Not saying it's too thick, you'll just have to try it. I'm just telling you what most makers use.

Ya....free is a good price....if you can?t make sheaths from it you can use it for alot of other things like making templates....when I design a folder I make a side and the blade in kydex to see it in person...btw I use .080" kydex for my sheaths...

Hi Sam...

Yaa .125 is a bit on the thick side,, however it can be done...

You will sure have a heavy duty bomb proof sheaths...

As Jens said it can be used for a pile of other thinghs,,like clips, pistol holsters and a wide variety of other things...

Thickest I go is .090 and thats even too thick for my liking..

ttyle

Eric...

There are so many things you can make with kydex not knife related.Try making a fold over clip like a wide money clip but bigger and use some heavy duty velcro to attach other knife sheaths from thinner kydex to it like a versital system. I have been making in the pocket sheath out of kydex for folders. It doesnt form to any one knife instead it has a pocket that alot of different knives can be put in.It keeps them standing without the clip. The thick material would work for that.I will post a link at the bottom to a sheath similar in leather. If you write to Kleerdex they will send you a sample pack with about 60 or more small pieces of kydex all sizes and colors and textures so you can see which you like......R http://www.masterofconcealment.com/p...?pgroupid=1115 This works well in kydex and feels like it isnt any more there than a large folder.I have done a few more things to this variation but those are secret for now. For right or left just fold it over the other way and rivot it. Use a wood block to form it.
