Gourdy

I?ve never seen a gourd handled knife,? so I thought I?d give it a try.

Overall length- 5 inches
Blade- 1095 steel
Handle- Gourd
Fittings- Copper

As always Tai , it looks great. Then again you could make a turd look good.

Did you stabilize it somehow ?

Thanks Dwane.

I reinforced the open end with brass tubing on the inside, filled it with epoxy and waxed it. The gourd itself is pretty stable stuff and tends not to crack. It's high quality gourd, same kind as they use for cups, bowls, musical instruments etc.

I'm thinkin' an oosic handled bowie with a polished coprolite cabachon on the end would look great. Need some sort of turd pattern Damascus I guess.
