Wanted Black & Red G-10

Hi Guys
I have an order for a large knife and the customer wants Black & Red G-10 for the handles. The problem is all the suppliers have is Black & Burgandy and they are calling it RED . I know I have seen true Black & RED dose anybody have any to sell me. The minium size I need is 7"x 2 1/2 "x 3/8" Or I would take a bigger piece.
Thanks
Tim Spry

Micarta is a phenolic plastic with a linen, canvas, or paper base. G-10 is fiberglass...

I don't understand that question - glue is neither fiberglass nor plastic. If you mean what happens when you use epoxy to secure scales made of fiberglass or plastic the answer is it works fine. If you mean what happens when fiberglass resin is used to secure those same scales, I don't know, never tried it. It would probably work but I doubt it would work better than regular epoxy ....

sorry ray, you know me and my terms! I meant if you use a fiberglass resin as the material for the handles instead of plastic....not glue (slaps forehead).

I think he means micarta made with fiberglass resin instead of what you mentioned. Homemade micarta is usually made with fiberglass resin.

We use Micarta as a generic term just like Xerox and we really shouldn't. What we make with fiberglass resin isn't 'Micarta', it's a fiberglass laminate - I kind of like the name 'mycarta' for the home made stuff.

In any case, once you have made it you have something similar to G-10 in composition and, as you know, ordinary epoxy works just fine with G-10 so it will also work with mycarta ...
