Wow, thanks guys. I don't get to the forums much so I'm only just seeing this. I'll try to get around more often.
doing the Journeyman thing was probably one of the best things I did for my knifemaking, the amount of time I spent concentrating on details that I otherwise might have let slide has raised my personal bar and I think the knives I make after these will be that much better because of it.
I intend to go for mastersmith as soon as I think my work is at that level. I still have a great deal to learn, especially about Damascus Steel. I'm very fortunate to live near Tommy McNabb who has coached me every inch of the way and still continues to offer help and advice.
Getting the stamp was a great experience, Lots of ABS guys I didn't know came by my table later with congratulations. I haven't been congratulated that many times since I hit 6 bulls in darts. That night everybody was buying me beers.
