Grizzly Grinder?

I just ordered the grizzly. Have they always been 1725 rpms?

Yes. They really run too fast, and a number of people have rigged up improved belt designs to them.

It is a TANK of a grinder! I had to go run an errand when the truck dropped mine off and my wife had them just dump it in the driveway. One look at the box and I was just sick - it was busted up in every possible way. With the truck gone, there's no way to hold the trucking company responsible. I had no choice but to unpack it. To my surprise, it was 100% intact. I think they could have run over it with the truck and it would have worked fine.

If you search around here you'll find plenty of derogatory posts about the Grizz, but you'll also find a lot of people that have one. Even when they buy a first-rate knife grinder, the Grizz will still often occupy a spot for doing all the odd jobs.

i plan to run pulleys to make a slower speed later but that will take some tinkering

Get you a controller it is much better then step pulleys .

I'm Cheap so it will be pulleys or I may use another treadmill motor. I will use the griz motor for hogging and put pulley on buffing arm to vary speed with different motor and unplug grizzly motor. Wish you could of made it to Ron's it was a blast.
