Thank you Mike. We appreciate your picking those out for us. I'd gotten tired of looking and passed right over them. Thanks again.

I already had them in my favorites Steve. So I really didn't have to look much.

one question, when you "break-in" the cork belt do you use the flat of the steel or the edge?

The edge of the steel. You're wearing the tops of the media off until it's kind of glossy with some valleys scattered scross the face of the belt.

Remember to not peel off the corners as you gently and slightly "break" it around the edge of the wheel.

I just received a sample 1000x cork belt from Scott at Tru-Grit to play with. After polishing at least 5 blades with it I find it to be wonderful! I use the same steps as usual: Grind with a 50 or 60x belt, remove those scratches with a green A45 Trizact CF Gator Structured Abrasive, or other 400x belt, remove those with a 400x cork belt, remove those with the 1000x cork belt. I don't think it takes any longer than with the 600x cork and I'm sure it buffs up faster after using the 1000x cork. You might give it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Steve,

Thank you for letting us know about your new polishing procedure.

I will have to order one of the 1000x belts and give it a try.

Hope to see you at Blade in a couple weeks.

Charles
