...o.k, gotta admit I've never 'used' the RMK #8 Trout & Bird model, in nearly 30 years of collecting RMK's I've never 'used' any RMK ! SO...my choice of options may not be best for a 'user' friendly Trout & Bird... but in my way of thinking it would be one 'helluva' #8 !
Brass Butt Plate
SS Blade
Square Top Single Brass Hilt
Black/Brass Spacers
Stag Handle-Slab Sides (fits right or left hand users).

Redelk, yeah I am on Tradgang and also Leatherwall. Lots of good information there. I have always shot traditional, only way to go.
Captain, sorry I didn't fully understand how this works. Here is my idea: stainless steel, nickel silver standard hilt, thumb notches, a waxed sheath and something DIFFERENT for the handle. How about an exotic wood? ie: cocobolo, ziricote, bocote, macassar ebony, wenge or zebra?

Doesn't bother me in the least. I'm an Auburn fan.

Auburn fan?

Raindog,
Sorry about your "Auburn" affiliation. Your Randall orders will probably be a bit late.......
O.K., Crew: Let's "roll call" on stainless and thumb notches...For or against...any combination you would like: Carbon..no thumb notches: Stainless..with thumb notches, etc. Let's see where we are. Best for now, The "Captain"

Stainless, with thumb notches, because I have used a #8. It makes a great "Gut Knife".
