Not yet???

O.K. crew,
The decision to add thumb notches is a done deal. Aluminum and red or aluminum and black is a "tie"!! I will let the winning number choose his or her poison. That's right: Enough is enough. For the first time we are going to the scramble with a "player to be named later". No big deal. Nobody looses except I cannot order the "Captain's Set" until after the final count...SO. I am going to email the moderators with the winning number and we will start taking emails afterwards....NOT YET!! I'll give ya'll a "heads up" in a bit. Best for now, Captain Chris Stanaback

P.S. Oh yeah...I almost forgot. A waxed sheath will be included. CCS

Num3ers

O.K., crew,
We're all set! Again..We are going to take number guesses on a chance to purchase this "Captain Chris' Carving Combo" at Randall catalog price at time of delivery. Right now that is looking like the end of this year or beginning of 2008. We are building a Model #6-9", Large filet knife/ stainless/ thumb notches/ stag handle/ nickel silver single hilt/ aluminum spacers with your choice of red or black to compliment. A waxed sheath and a fork and steel made up to match with reduced hilts and matching spacers..stag handles as well. A 3 piece felt carrying case (wrap) will also be ordered. NO SUBSTITUTIONS!!
Each member who participated in this build is entitled to one guess...BUT...as there is a good chance that your favorite number "pick" may get chosen by someone else, please send me your top 3 guesses in the order you prefer them. First come/ first served on the "order" the numbers are assigned. Email your picks to me: CAPTSTANABACK@aol.com.
Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!! Best, Captain Chris Stanaback

and the winner is!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O.K., Crew,
Good job! This building project is complete. The winner, who guessed the secret number right on the money is: Kent Warnberg!! His first entry guess of #24 is correct! Kent was the 5th crew member to respond. One other member also came up with the exact number, but was, literally, a day late. At any rate...Congratulations to Kent. I believe this is his second win. It was bound to happen. Kent: Get in touch, via my email address and we'll work out the details.
To the rest of the crew...The Model #7 is starting right away. Better luck to all of you on that one. Best for now, Captain Chris Stanaback

Congratulations, Kent, you two-timer! This will be a fine carving set.

Way to go Kent!

You're going to love this carving set. I hope you get it in time for Thanksgiving.

Cheers!

Friends,

Two items... I never thought that being a "two-timer" was a good thing..but it is!

And....I decided to go with the Black/Silver spacers.

Thanks again to all of you for helping with this build. As they say..Lets Get Going on the #7!

Kent,
...Congratuulations. I think that perhaps one of the better things about winning one of these builds (or even better two of them) is that sometime way in the future you will look at them and remember the friends who helped you pick out the options.
Jeff
ps. While I was in the middle of typing this post UPS brought me a shop ordered 12-8 with ironwood handle and brass furniture. LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Jeff,

You are right. Everytime that I will use the carving set, I will think of all of the folks that helped build it! Isn't it fun geting packages in the mail!

'Bout time that you won the # 7!

Kent

Kent,
....I had the number 26. This is the first one of these builds that I have even been close. I do have two tricked out carving sets on order so I will be okay;o)
