Capt. Chris,
5" stainless sounds good to me. I'm all in on that for the blade.

You show a bunch Randall Nuts a Beautiful RMK, then give it the above billing. Kinda like trying to discuss dining etiquette with sharks when there's blood in the water. I had wanted a fighter 7" blade till I saw yours. Now I have 2 model #4's that I want.

Chief,

I too am APPALED at how Moosie and the Good Captain tease us with such great pictures. A Very Unfair practice. If one of them would have had cruddy pictures, it would have made it much easier to decide!

I am still in favor of ironwood for the handle, 5" with #6 grind and with a border style handle. I can see that the problem will be stopping at 5 options!

Today I just received a fantastic piece of desert ironwood from WSSI in Iowa. This piece will go on my #4 this fall.

Merry Christmas to all of my friends of this forum!

Kent B. Warnberg

PS Today I also got my mini RKS knife in, #551. Its pretty nice!

Hi Folks!

I don't have a fore which is just as well since I'm not a golfer. However, it is my pleasure to present you with a couple more of the the Captain's #4's:

I believe the handle material on the top one is genuine desiccated Saskatchewan sealskin, and the lower one is Texas groundhog bone. Very, very pretty indeed!

Cheers and Merry Christmas to you all! Eat, drink and be merry (but everything in moderation)!

David

P.S. There's one more night to light the Chanukah candles.

#6 grind

Kent,
Sorry, but the #6 grind is only available on a 6" blade. I thought I had mentioned that already. Best, The "Captain"

Cpt.

Thanks for refreshing my memory. (It needs ALOT of help). With that said, I will add one measly inch and go for the 6" with #6 grind..and stick with ironwood!

Moosie..Why do you keep posting all of those GREAT pictures. Were all ready confused enough! Chief and I will really be clueless now!

Moosie, I hope that you get all of your candles lit, and have a Great holiday season.

Since it seems like we are into "Blade Picking" for this Buiild, I will go with the following for my selection:

Model #4 x 6? - Carbon Steel Blade
Special Forge with #6 Grind & Long Finger Choil

I think it would be nice to build the Captain's "Other Special"

After thinking this over (and a couple of my special eggnogs, I call it "dadnog") I must have been too much in touch with my "feminine side". Hopefully we will build a #7 and #8 that will satisfy that.

WTH, let's build a #4-7 fighter!

Got to go to bed now, Santa's due soon. Wait, that's me!

Hi folks!

I hope that you've all sufficiently recovered from your Xmas celebrations and are able to focus in on another one of our Captain's collection of #4's. This knife is an older fella from the early Johnson sheath days:

You can tell it's an early one, since Johnson hadn't yet learned to make a hone pocket.

Perhaps some of you will be able to give us an approximate date.

The Captain is still recovering after hiding out in the woods of Alabama:

However, perhaps we'll hear from Cap before next year.

Cheers!

Moosehead

I still want a #4-7" stainless with a forward curve double hilt!!!
If you supply the handle material & or the hilt, spacers & butt cap does that still count as options?
I see the good Captain is out collecting more Crown Stag.

Friends,

Guess the Cpt. is still roaming the woods, but I want to keep this thread going.

I added a few options...

4-6" Ironwood

Border Patrol style handle

#6 grind

Thumb Notches

NS single hilt

Black/Silver spacers

If I have any options left, I would take a duralumin Butt Cap.

Hope all of you had a very Happy New Year!

Let's "roll call" the blade!

Everyone,
I have enjoyed your input and thoughts. It is time to take a "roll call" for the "BLADE ONLY". Reminder: 4 1/2" (3/16" stock) is available in carbon or stainless steel. 5", 6", and 7" are available with either steel and forged from 1/4" stock. The Model #4, with a #6 grind is "ONLY" available in a 6" blade (1/4" stock) and in "CARBON ONLY"!! With all of that in mind, let's start the "vote" I am home (Early this morning) and will be in town (Orlando) for the gun and knife show at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. I will check back in on this as it moves along. ONE VOTE per forum member.
and..Kent: The knife you just listed already had 6 options, which is 1 option too many...No more would be able to be added from an order through me, and 1 would have to be eliminated. Best for now, Captain Chris Stanaback
