Looks like a real beauty you got there, sterusmall!!!

I really like the stag.

However, I think you had better send it back to the shop and have that defective compass replaced. Your second photo indicates that the hemispheres are upside down....

Not related as far as I know; though my father was born and raised in north Florida.

I was named after the fellow in the link though and I guess you could say I am a fan; especially since he was part of the CSA.
